Brennie Tellu is a proud first-generation West African, born in Brooklyn, New York when her mother first immigrated to the United States from Liberia. An avid lover of musicals as a child, Brennie hosted her own "variety show" in the courtyard next to her apartment building - complete with handmade tickets sold to neighbors for a quarter each to see skits, poems, songs and dances penned, choreographed and performed by the ten year-old budding actor/writer/producer and her friends.

Currently a NYC-based actor, writer, producer and teaching artist, Brennie holds a BA in Communication from Rowan University, an MFA in Acting from Pace University and is also the founder and Artistic Director of the all-female led Yancy Girl Productions and a founding producer of W517 Productions

Brennie is extremely passionate about pursuing opportunities to use her art to not just entertain, but as a form of activism; to educate, create dialogue, give back to her community and hopefully spark change in the world…
